Social Profile(s)
COSMOTE is a company with a vision and a multifaceted social agenda, always supporting those in need of our help, the environment, which needs our care and attention, and rural Greece, which is often forgotten by many. We focus on actions above words. Thus, the company established the "Participation" project, to share the actions it develops with regards to increasing its social responsibility, which makes up an inseparable part of its corporate and strategic functions. COSMOTE's concern for its staff, for our fellow human being, for the protection of the natural and professional environment, and for the cultural and social life, for the wider periphery and remote areas, proves that apart from its technological dimension, the company has a social conscience and sensitivity.
For yet another year, COSMOTE donated significant part of its profits from New Year Day's text messaging to four welfare organisations.
For the sixth consecutive year, COSMOTE sent out messages of hope for the children, offering a significant part of its revenues from New Year Day's text messages (SMS) to four non-profit welfare organisations that provide child care and support, aiming to actively support their hard yet priceless social work.
Willfully responding to the company's invitation, COSMOTE customers, for yet another year, chose to exchange their seasonal wishes via text messaging, thus demonstrating their sensitivity as well as their spirit of solidarity.
To date, EUR 250,000 has been donated to the following non-profit organisations:
- Friends of Social Pediatrics, "Open Arms"
- "The Smile of the Child" Association
- "The Spastics Society"
- "Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Health Association"
- Moreover, for the fourth consecutive year, COSMOTE donated the amount destined for corporate Christmas gifts to the charity "Flame"
With the opportunity of this year's ceremony, COSMOTE invited the children of the aforementioned organisations to the children's play "The great bloom of Brilis". Tailoured to address the special needs of children under treatment, this innovative and flexible theatrical play that has been "staged" at the corridors and wards of many children's hospitals and institutions in Athens, speaks with lyricism and humor about hope, persistence and the power of will. The children's response has been enthusiastic; whilst the show has received the warm applause of its young -- and adult -- audience.
For COSMOTE, children, their protection and the improvement of the quality of their life, represent a key priority of its social programme "Participation" and a true commitment the company will remain loyal to, with the same love and devotion, in the years to come.
